On Saturday 2nd February the District Annual "After Christmas, Christmas Dinner" took place at the Portobello Scout HQ. It was great evening starting off with a traditional Christmas dinner of Turkey, Pork and trimmings, then a choice of sweets Christmas Pudding, Pavlova and Trifle followed by Coffee and Mince Pies. After a short period to let things settle, we joined in some party games namely Pass the Parcel game with a difference, the parcels where balls which you passed to each other when the music was playing, when it stopped the persons who had one of the balls had to take a layer off and follow the instructions on the forfeit. To avoid having to take a layer off the ball quite a lot of fast balls where whistling around whilst the music was playing. Another game was a bit like bingo. Each person had to bring a small wrapped gift with them. Everybody then sat in a circle and were given a single bingo card. As the bingo numbers where read out, if you had one on your card you could go and collect anybody else's present, this continued until a full line was completed. At this point the game ended and if you had any presents in front of you, they were yours. We had 3 quiz sheets to fill in and our table did very well. It was an excellent evening and a once a great time was had by all.
